Mentoring

Adjusting to the university experience takes time for many first-year students. Living on your own and learning to manage the responsibility that comes with that can be a challenge. And that is why Hardin-Simmons University’s mentoring program exists, to assist you with your transition into life at HSU.
We believe the purpose of a mentor to be threefold: to invest in a relationship with the student, encourage them, and empower them to think and act autonomously. A mentor seeks to amplify talk of solutions when problems and obstacles may be all that you can see. A mentor affirms your struggles and will provide you with tools, resources, and connections to help you manage them. Ultimately, our mentors want to help you to be equipped for a lifetime of success.
